The client is a growing public accounting firm with multiple locations throughout Massachusetts. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Senior Tax & Accounting Manager to join our team in Fall River, Massachusetts. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned public accounting professional who is passionate about client service, team development, and practice management.
Position Summary
The Senior Tax & Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting practice operations, review complex tax engagements, mentor staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. The successful candidate will possess strong technical tax expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the daily operations of the accounting practice.
• Review corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns.
• Prepare and review financial statements and other client deliverables.
• Perform tax preparation and general accounting functions as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships.
• Provide strategic tax and financial guidance to clients.
• Assist with business development initiatives and firm growth.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and overall firm performance.
Required Qualifications
• Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
• Minimum 7+ years of tax preparation experience in public accounting.
• Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience reviewing corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns
• Proficiency with ProFx or UltraTax tax software.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
• Strong knowledge of tax, accounting, and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills.
