Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role offers an opportunity to work as a Pharmacist in a combined Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment. The position is contract to hire with a 13-week schedule, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including some Saturdays on the same shift hours. The location is in Williamston, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage issues.
  • Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal regulations.
  • Verify that prescribed medicines are suitable for the patients’ needs.
  • Maintain confidential, precise patient records and manage pharmacy files effectively.
  • Advise patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and answer questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on handling medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters).
  • Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify medication-related problems and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with a valid North Carolina pharmacy license.
  • Previous pharmacy experience required; LTC experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mail Order pharmacy workflows a plus.
