Job Description
Location: Sinking Spring, PA
Facility: 75,000 sq. ft. AISC Advanced Bridge Certified fabrication shop that’s actively expanding to take on more large, complex builds.
Compensation & schedulePay: $22–$34 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
Schedule: Start at 5:00 AM, work 10-hour days, with a 30-minute lunch
About the rolePicture your morning: you clock in before sunrise, review shop drawings and WPSs for the day’s bridge components, then strike your first arc. By mid-morning, you’re laying down code-compliant welds on heavy plate assemblies for lift spans and trestles, coordinating with teammates and crane operators to position fixtures safely. The pride comes when you see those pieces shipped out to become core parts of iconic infrastructure across the country.
What you’ll buildAt JGM Fabricators & Constructors—an AISC Advanced Bridge Certified shop—you’ll help fabricate lift bridges, railroad bridges, trestle structures, bus terminals, main spans, and approaches that meet rigorous AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code standards.
Core responsibilities- Weld structural bridge components using FCAW, GMAW/MIG, SAW, and SMAW processes to AWS D1.5 requirements
- Read and interpret weld symbols, WPSs, and shop drawings with precision
- Handle weld prep, grinding, gouging, and post-weld cleanup
- Operate safely around overhead cranes, fixtures, and heavy plate assemblies
- Comply with AISC, AWS, and OSHA standards in a safety-first environment
- 2+ years of structural steel welding experience
- Current or prior AWS certifications (D1.1 / D1.5) preferred
- Background in an AISC bridge or structural fabrication shop is a plus
