Position: LVN / LPN – Medical Surgical

Location: Rochester, NY
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift | 4x12 Hours | 48 Hours/Week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Travelers: $1,800–$1,930/week
Based on 48 hours per week.

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a Medical-Surgical assignment. The ideal candidate should have strong Med-Surg and/or Emergency Department experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.

First-time travelers are accepted.

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Med-Surg and/or Emergency Department experience required
• Active New York State LPN license
• Current BLS certification
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Phlebotomy competency
• IV insertion experience required
• NURSYS report showing all active licenses
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be willing to float within the same building
• Call requirement may apply based on staffing needs
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at the time of submission
• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted

• Emergency Department
• Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Blood glucose monitoring/testing
• Feeding tube care and management
• NG tube / G-tube care
• Foley catheter insertion – female
• Foley catheter insertion – male
• IV placement
• Phlebotomy
• Medication administration: Oral, IM, SQ
• Ear drops and eye drops
• Ambulation
• Oxygen administration
• Face masks and nasal cannula
• Vital sign monitoring
• Admission of patients
• Bathing: sitz, tub, bed, and shower
• Mouth care
• Isolation precautions
• Communication of patient status changes to RN/MD
