Bedford Hills Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Memory Care Director to lead and oversee our Memory Care Program. The Memory Care Director will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall Memory Care Program while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered dementia care and programming.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct a comprehensive Memory Care Program

  • Develop program goals and use resident outcomes and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements as well as facility policies and standards of care

  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, nursing, medical providers, and other departments

  • Partner with facility leadership on strategic growth, occupancy, and program development initiatives

  • Determine staffing needs and oversee scheduling for the Memory Care department

  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retaining qualified Memory Care staff

  • Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, education, and performance feedback to team members

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and maintain survey readiness

  • Review prospective admissions to ensure the Memory Care Program can appropriately meet resident needs

  • Participate in developing and updating person-centered care plans

  • Ensure residents' life histories, interests, routines, preferences, and abilities are incorporated into meaningful programming

  • Serve as a resource to the interdisciplinary team in addressing behavioral expressions and changes in residents' mood, cognition, or behavior

  • Build strong relationships with residents and families and respond professionally to questions and concerns

  • Promote and protect resident rights, dignity, privacy, choice, independence, and psychosocial well-being

  • Ensure staff complete required dementia education, orientation, training, and competency validation

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Nursing, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Gerontology, or another related field required

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred

  • Three or more years of direct experience in dementia care delivery or a related professional discipline

  • Two or more years of management, administrative, or supervisory experience

  • Any professional license or certification required for the individual's discipline must be current and in good standing

  • Strong knowledge of dementia care, memory impairment, aging services, and person-centered approaches

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively lead, coach, and develop a Memory Care team
