Duties of Housekeeping Supervisor:

• Onboard, train, and mentor housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Implement and monitor strict infection control and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous wastes and infectious materials.
• Oversee specialized cleaning, such as setting up and breaking down isolation room
• Clean residents’ rooms, surgical areas, offices, and waiting areas using cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
• Clean and sanitize floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection-control policies
• Sweep, mop, and buff floors as needed
• Operate various types of cleaning equipment
• Handle and dispose of waste using standard procedures
• Assist in keeping the laundry department neat, clean, and orderly
• Label clothing and personal resident items
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies according to prescribed standards

Qualifications for Housekeeping Supervisor:

• Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings, and labels
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as loading and unloading washers and dryers; coordination necessary to fold clothing items and linen
• Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from white
