RAI Lab Technician

Job Description

Under supervision, performs routine analytical tasks within a research and development laboratory.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine analytical testing, operate laboratory equipment, and utilize current Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Prepare samples and perform analysis using appropriate techniques for the research and development program.
Assist with or perform routine chemical and metallurgical analyses.
Safely handle various chemical reagents.
Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Execute administrative duties, including ordering supplies, departmental communications, and site interactions (both verbal and written).
Accurately collect and report results.
Assist in the training of laboratory personnel.
Perform additional duties as required.
Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and basic mathematical skills for routine calculations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.
One year of direct laboratory experience OR an Associate's degree with six months of related laboratory experience.
Proficiency in MS Office or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of mechanical/maintenance experience.
Experience with LIMS/STARLIMS.
Experience working with chemicals.
Experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., ph/ORP, auto-titrators, viscometers, particle analysis).
Prior analytical and/or research and development laboratory or mining experience preferred but not required.
