Pump Application Engineer/ Inside Sales Engineer

Voigt-Abernathy is a leading distributor of engineered pumps, fans, filtration, and process equipment with 175+ employees. We have an opening for an Pump Application Engineer located in Hammond, Louisiana.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee the initial design and quotation of pre-sale engineered pump and fan systems based on customer specifications. To include, but not limited to:

• Working with customers and outside salesman to gain the required system details.
• Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
• Apply technical knowledge to properly design new pump and fan systems.
• Work with vendors to source necessary project quotes.
• Create bill of materials to determine Voigt-Abernathy project costs for accurate quoting.
• Create drawing requests based on quoted engineered packages.
• Check project approval drawings for accuracy based on quoted system.
• Be organized and keep sufficient records of all engineered projects for company reference.

Summary of Flex Responsibilities:

• Attend pump schools and training as required.
• Contribute to new ideas for company continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with inventory management as needed.
• Assist with quality control as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in mechanical, civil or industrial engineering preferred
• 3 years of Pump application engineering or inside pump sales experience will be considered in lieu of degree
• Project management experience desired
• Strong technical mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Excellent Communication skills
