Job Summary
The Server Assistant plays a key support role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by assisting Servers with table maintenance, guest service, and operational support throughout service. This position helps ensure tables are properly maintained, service stations remain stocked and organized, and guests receive attentive and seamless service in accordance with fine-dining standards. The Server Assistant works collaboratively with Servers, Food Runners, Bartenders, and management to support efficient service flow and an elevated guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain tables throughout service by clearing used dishes, glassware, and utensils and resetting tables in accordance with established service standards
Provide water service and assist with maintaining guest tables throughout the dining experience
Support Servers and Food Runners to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service execution
Maintain strong knowledge of food and beverage offerings to properly assist with food running, garnishing, and guest service support
Ensure side stations are fully stocked, organized, and prepared to meet business demands
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with all health and safety guidelines
Proactively anticipate and respond to the needs of guests, Servers, and fellow team members
Assist with opening duties, closing duties, and additional operational tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience in a fine-dining or full-service restaurant environment preferred
Strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Diligent work ethic with strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
Maintain a clean, polished, and professional appearance
Ability to anticipate operational and guest needs throughout service
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts
Ability to move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including dining rooms, kitchens, service stations, storage areas, and outdoor spaces as applicable
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and transport trays, dishware, glassware, service equipment, and other operational items throughout the facility
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 85 pounds on occasion
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Ability to work in varying temperatures, crowded conditions, and a high-volume service environment
