Job Description
Position Summary
The Battery Service & Roadside Assistance Driver is responsible for providing on-site automotive battery delivery and installation, as well as emergency roadside services including lock-outs, tire changes, fuel delivery, and jump starts. This position requires safe driving practices, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Driver represents the company in the field and is expected to provide prompt, professional, and reliable service to customers.
• Safely operate a company service vehicle in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Deliver, test, and install automotive batteries at customer locations
• Perform battery diagnostics and basic electrical system testing
• Provide roadside assistance services including:
o Vehicle lock-out services
o Tire changes (installing spare tires)
o Emergency fuel delivery
o Jump-start services
• Remove and properly dispose of/recycle used batteries
• Accurately complete service documentation and required reports
• Maintain inventory of batteries, fuel, tools, and supplies on service vehicle
• Collect and process payments when required
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or equipment issues
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive company image
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of automotive systems
• Ability to safely lift and carry batteries weighing up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and possible on-call shifts
