Chicago Methodist Senior Service (CMSS) is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization providing an array of programs and services to older adults across Chicagoland.

POSITION SUMMARY

Cleans facility patient rooms, lounges, bathrooms, offices, halls, ancillary and other areas by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promotes interactions and activity that reflect the Mission and Values of the Organization while consistently demonstrating and ensuring person centered customer service.
• Keeps utility, janitors carts, closets and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Disinfects and cleans all equipment, furniture and fixtures per schedule in resident room and ancillary areas.
• Dusts furniture, high and low horizontal surfaces, equipment and floors.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Follow weekly schedule, deep cleans  5-6 rooms per day (from top to bottom, all furniture and  fixtures)
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets clean and relines, transports trash to collection areas and empties, cleans ashtrays.
• Damp mop all hard surface floors and place wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted areas and spot cleans stains.
• Restocks supplies as needed; soap, paper towels, seat liners & toilet paper.
• Uses proper technique to disinfect isolation areas.
• Notes and reports any need for project cleaning and or maintenance repairs.
• Reevaluates daily schedule and areas of responsibility to determine if a change is needed to help with quality, equipment or the schedule.
• Helps in other areas with extra cleaning, special setups or supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or GED, housekeeping experience in a health care setting helpful, but not required.
