To act as the Owner’s representative to oversee all aspects of plant and facilities construction including: interconnect, site work, owner purchased material, safety, startup and commissioning, and project close out. This position is responsible for the overall management of the team and assigned projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and safety requirements. This role coordinates and manages construction work performed by contractors and vendors at the project site, along with the engineering, procurement, and construction oversight activities necessary to construct, start up, and commence commercial operations. It also provides portfolio-level leadership, staffing oversight, mobilization support, mentoring, performance management, and continuous improvement across all active projects within an assigned client portfolio, maintaining alignment with the client's standards and objectives. 

Location:

On construction site for duration of project, mainland U.S. 

Pay:

DOE (hourly, non-exempt)

Requirements:

   

Preferred Background:

· Engineering, Construction Management, professional career in construction with experience in Industrial or power markets

· A background in electrical and utilities

Required Skillsets:

   

· People management

· Organization

· Computer skills MS word, Excel and MS PowerPoint

· Communication with third parties and executives

· Schedule and planning understanding 

· Construction means and methods knowledge 

· Management means and methods knowledge

· Must possess a valid driver’s license

   

  

Job Responsibilities:

· Works collaboratively with internal resources and sub-tier suppliers to determine project priorities, schedules, and work plans to meet milestones, and manages sub-tier suppliers to the requirements outlined in contracts and purchase orders as lead manager and administrator

· Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocation, assesses field status, manages walk down of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and approves contractor payment requests

· Ensures projects are implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely in accordance with department procedures, local regulations, contracts, and policies, and supervises or coordinates supporting activities and groups including safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analysis, and contract administration

· Manages execution requirements stipulated in the Interconnect Agreement, Power Purchase Agreement, and Independent System Operator requirements to achieve back-feed, sync, and commercial operation, and oversees commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives

· Leads project meetings and reviews budget, schedule, quality, risk tracker, and contingency allocations; reports daily, weekly, and monthly on progress, indicators, and recovery plans to upper management, and maintains portfolio-level performance dashboards covering safety, quality, schedule, commercial, and program health metrics

· Interfaces with designated management committees and third parties as lead Company representative of project activities, and maintains executive-level communication with client leadership through quarterly and annual program reviews

· Leads project mobilization and startup activities, establishing project expectations, reporting processes, communication protocols, and program standards, and supporting development of site organizations and execution processes consistent with portfolio-wide expectations

· Manages onsite Company representative staff (Inspectors), and recruits, screens, onboards, mentors, coaches, and performance-manages assigned Company personnel in alignment with project objectives and client expectations

· Reviews and approves time records for assigned Company personnel in accordance with Company timekeeping policy and applicable wage and hour requirements

· Maintains authorized access to Company project management, timekeeping, staffing, and reporting systems as required to perform workforce management, approval, and reporting duties

· Coordinates resource planning, staffing strategy, and mobilization readiness to support current and forecasted project needs, and manages personnel transition, reassignment, and demobilization at project closeout

· Facilitates cross-project lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices and established processes are applied consistently across assigned projects

· Operates within the authority delegated by Company leadership; Owner-reserved decisions, strategic direction, contractual authority, and commercial approvals remain with the client. Assigned personnel receive day-to-day direction from both the client Project Manager and the Program Lead while remaining within the Company’s internal reporting structure for staffing, mentoring, performance management, and escalation

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability      to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable      accommodation.
  • Ability      to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods on      construction jobsites.
  • Ability      to traverse uneven terrain and work in varied weather conditions typical      of outdoor construction environments.
  • Ability      to distinguish color-coded wiring where required for safety-critical      electrical work, with reasonable accommodation where feasible.
  • Ability      to wear required PPE and comply with all site safety protocols.
