Machine Helper
- Location: Sandston, VA
- Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
- Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Helper to support machine operators in a manufacturing environment. The Machine Helper will assist with machine setup, production operations, quality requirements, and maintaining a safe and clean work area.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, and willing to learn machine operations with the opportunity to provide operator coverage when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Machine Operator with the setup and operation of production equipment.
- Help ensure machines are properly set up and running efficiently.
- Assist with feed, printing, die cutting, and delivery sections of the machine.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain acceptable production rates and productivity.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete required paperwork, production records, and computer data entry.
- Assist with training new crew members as needed.
- Be willing to learn and perform Operator responsibilities when the primary Operator is absent.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is helpful but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operation.
- Ability and willingness to train toward operating the machine independently.
- Basic understanding of computers and production software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.

Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands for handling materials and equipment.
- Ability to reach, bend, and perform repetitive tasks as required.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
- Work areas are not climate controlled and temperatures may range from approximately 30°ree;F to 110°ree;F.
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations available when applicable.
