Make a Difference When Clients Need You Most

Dovida – Jacksonville is looking for a dependable and compassionate On-Call Caregiver who can provide quality in-home care while helping our team meet changing client and staffing needs.

This position is ideal for someone who can be flexible with their availability, respond quickly to scheduling needs, and is willing to provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and short-notice assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and daily activities

• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry

• Provide medication reminders as directed by the client's care plan

• Follow client-specific care plans and Dovida policies and procedures

• Provide coverage for call-offs, emergencies, open shifts, and short-notice assignments

• Maintain accurate availability in the scheduling system

• Respond promptly to calls and messages from the office during scheduled on-call periods

• Participate in weekend on-call coverage as assigned

• Report to assigned shifts on time and remain for the full scheduled shift

• Communicate promptly with the office regarding client needs, emergencies, scheduling concerns, or changes

• Complete required documentation, EVV, and timekeeping accurately

• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and families

• Support the team during periods of increased client needs and staffing shortages
  

On-Call Expectations

The On-Call Caregiver role requires flexibility and willingness to participate in designated weekend on-call coverage.

When scheduled for on-call coverage, caregivers are expected to:

• Remain available and reachable during their assigned on-call period

• Respond promptly to calls or messages from the Dovida office

• Be prepared to accept and report to an assigned shift when called in

• Complete the entire assigned shift unless released by the office

• Notify the office immediately if an emergency prevents them from fulfilling an assignment
  

An on-call stipend may be provided for designated on-call coverage in accordance with Dovida compensation practices.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Pass Level 2 background check

• CPR certified

• Must pass drug testing

• Previous caregiving, home care, healthcare, CNA, HHA, or personal care experience is preferred

• Basic technology skills and ability to use mobile scheduling and timekeeping applications

• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and short-notice assignments when available

• Must maintain required certifications, screenings, and training
