Job Description
Our Client has a temp to permanent opportunity for a HVAC Technician in the Boston, MA area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the preventative maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems within facilities or a public institution. A Universal EPA 608 Certification in HVAC and Refrigeration required. Experience in machining and fabricating parts in a machine shop required. Knowledge in the operation of lathes, welding equipment, milling, boring, honing, surfacing machines, electrical wiring, BMS systems, life safety systems, and maintaining plumbing systems required. Role also requires the ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals and specifications, with strong customer service and professionalism.
This position will perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems, air handling units, steam absorption chillers, cooling towers, and all ancillary equipment (pumps, valves, fans, ducting and variable air distribution units, motors/drives, compressors, thermostats, filters, condensers, refrigeration equipment, and plumbing systems. Position will also work closely with contractors'/service providers/engineers, while monitoring the BMS system, life safety systems, observe performance trends, and recommend improvements to equipment and procedures.
