Shift: First, 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $19-25/hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

The Machine Operator, Precision Grinding is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring grinding equipment to produce high-quality tooling components that meet exact specifications and tight tolerances. This position requires previous experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of production expectations, workplace safety, quality standards, and hands-on machine operation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working from drawings, work instructions, and measurement requirements while performing routine checks to ensure parts meet customer and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor grinding machines to produce parts according to drawings, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Inspect and measure parts throughout the production process using appropriate measuring tools to confirm accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Dress grinding wheels, make machine adjustments, and monitor equipment performance to maintain quality, efficiency, and safe operation.
• Identify quality issues, machine concerns, or process problems and communicate them promptly to the supervisor or lead.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed to support reliable equipment operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment required
• Prior machine operation experience, preferably with grinding, machining, or metalworking equipment
• Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures
• Basic math and measurement skills, including the ability to use or learn precision measuring tools
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to read blueprints preferred
