Job Description
Step into a crucial role supporting young adults with significant behavioral needs in an educational setting. This contract opportunity runs from August 11 through May 21, 2027, offering hands-on experience in a rewarding environment where your expertise and compassion will truly make a difference.
This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) is based with Transition Services, working with individuals aged 18–21+ who have disabilities. The right candidate will bring strong behavioral support skills, ideally with prior experience in schools, and a background in handling significant or severe caseloads. Experience with communication devices is a distinct advantage, as is comfort assisting students with toileting and diapering when needed.
What you’ll need to bring:
- At least two completed professional RefAssured references must be included with your application—candidates without these references cannot be considered.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs, preferably in educational settings.
- Expertise working with young adults with disabilities in community environments.
- Familiarity with communication devices is highly beneficial.
- Capacity to handle significant/severe caseloads.
- Ability to report to work by 8:00am daily.
- Reliable personal transportation to commute (public transit or rideshares are not acceptable).
- Willingness to immediately complete district fingerprinting requirements after offer acceptance; any felony or misdemeanor charges will disqualify a candidate per district policy.
- Readiness to perform physical support tasks, including toileting and diapering assistance when required.
