Job Description

The Process Technician plays a key role in supporting Process Engineers by carrying out documentation, data collection, process capture, and administrative engineering activities that are essential to process development but do not require engineering-level decision-making. This position helps increase engineering productivity, accelerate Manufacturing Process Instruction (MPI) development, improve documentation quality, and reduce overall process release cycle time.

Responsibilities

  • Create initial drafts of process documentation, including Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs), work instructions, build guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and process flow documents.
  • Update and revise existing documentation to reflect process changes and improvements.
  • Format documentation to align with established standards and ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Manage change history for process documents to maintain accurate and traceable records.
  • Populate MPI templates with relevant process information and data.
  • Insert and organize pictures and visual aids to support clear process instructions.
  • Create draft instructions that accurately capture process steps and requirements.
  • Organize process data to support engineering review and decision-making.
  • Prepare documentation review packages for Process Engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain SharePoint project folders to ensure documents and records are easily accessible and well-organized.
  • Maintain standard templates, training records, and documentation repositories for engineering and production teams.
  • Support training activities by preparing training packages and maintaining cross-training records.
  • Update and track skills matrices and qualification records to reflect current training and competency levels.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent and compliant execution of tasks.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team in a laboratory environment to support process development and validation activities.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, validation, or laboratory operations preferred.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and server systems.
  • Ability to follow procedures and detailed work instructions accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation and data tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers and other team members.
  • Ability to lift equipment as needed and work safely in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience or exposure to production or industrial engineering environments.
  • Comfort working with hardware and hardware development documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience creating or maintaining process documentation such as MPIs, SOPs, work instructions, and build guides.
  • Familiarity with process flow documentation and change management practices.
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar document control and collaboration tools.
  • Background in lab operations or validation activities.
  • Interest in supporting engineering teams and learning more about process development.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while following established guidelines and standards.

The culture emphasizes collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement, providing a solid platform for professional development and future advancement.

Work Environment
