Direct Care Worker - Peoria

Schedule:
Sunday - 11am to 7pm
Monday - 11am to 7pm
Thursday - 11am to 7pm

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Assist clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
• Administer medication and monitor health conditions as directed.
• Document and report any changes in client behavior or health status.
• Support clients in social and recreational activities.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients at all times.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving preferred.
• Previous experience in direct care or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Empathetic and patient demeanor with a passion for helping others.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Member Info:

• 24-year-old male with Autism
•  Member has an Augg comm device in place. Speech therapy continues to work with member on using the device and his communication. He is able to speak some words.
•  Member is non- verbal and does not always understand consequences in the home and in the community. Docent understand that if he walks in front of a car that he will get hit. 
•  Lacks Community safety, No stranger danger skills, Lacks Communication Skills: Member in the past has gone out the front door and ran down the street. He will walk up to strangers and greet them. He will go into a street before making sure the road is clear of traffic. He is mostly non-verbal.
