Job Description
Reno, Nevada | $150,000–$210,000 | Full-Time or Part-Time
Aeries Recruiting is partnering with a privately owned, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in Reno that is expanding its doctor team and expects to add at least one additional full-time veterinarian.
This is an unusually broad clinical environment combining conventional small-animal medicine with integrative care and additional areas of interest including exotic medicine.
The practice is an especially strong fit for a veterinarian who wants the resources of a larger hospital without joining a national corporate group.
Compensation & Opportunity- $140,000–$210,000 annual compensation range, depending on experience, schedule, and role structure
- Full-time and select part-time opportunities
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Sign-on incentives may be considered for the right candidate
- Strong support infrastructure
- Opportunity to develop a clinical niche or bring additional services into the hospital
The hospital is family-owned and operates from a distinctive multi-building property in Reno, including separate space supporting conventional and integrative veterinary medicine.
The team practices a broad range of medicine, including:
- Small-animal general practice
- Urgent care
- Preventive medicine
- Surgery
- Integrative and holistic medicine
- Acupuncture
- Herbal and Eastern medicine
- Exotic-animal medicine
Veterinarians with an existing interest or certification in acupuncture, integrative medicine, herbs, rehabilitation, exotics, or another complementary discipline are particularly attractive—but a holistic background is not required for every candidate.
The hospital also has highly experienced veterinarians who enjoy teaching and collaborating, including doctors with decades of clinical experience.
Support & CultureThe practice has built significantly more administrative infrastructure than most independently owned hospitals, including dedicated operational, training, HR, and medical leadership resources.
Clinical staffing is designed around strong veterinarian leverage, with licensed technicians and assistants supporting doctors.
The practice is AAHA accredited and incorporates Fear Free principles into patient care.
Who They’re Looking ForIdeal candidates will have:
- DVM or VMD degree
- Veterinary licensure in Nevada or eligibility to obtain it
- Approximately 2+ years of clinical experience preferred
- Strong general-practice fundamentals
- An interest in practicing collaboratively
- Curiosity and an interest in continued clinical growth
- Strong client communication skills
Experienced veterinarians seeking part-time work may also be considered.
New graduates are not the primary target for this particular search.
Why Reno? For veterinarians who like being outside, Reno offers immediate access to the Sierra Nevada region and Lake Tahoe, with skiing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, and other outdoor recreation close by.
Nevada also has no individual state income tax.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a veterinarian who wants private ownership, a large and clinically diverse team, room to develop a niche, and the ability to combine conventional medicine with modalities not commonly available inside a traditional GP hospital.
