Job Description
Vanderlande LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical / HVAC Technician to support our operations team at Baltimore/Washington International Airport. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing activities on passenger boarding bridge HVAC equipment, baggage handling systems, and associated components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to provide accurate maintenance documentation and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of passenger boarding bridge HVAC equipment and baggage handling systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair associated mechanical and electrical components.
- Provide accurate and timely written reports related to safety, operational, and maintenance activities.
- Interpret maintenance and operational data and recommend schedule or activity adjustments to management.
- Update and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and safe work practices.
- Support operational reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to:
- Lifting 50 to 100 pounds
- Bending, reaching, and crawling
- Climbing ladders and stairs
- Walking and standing for extended periods
- Sitting as required
- Speaking, hearing, and visual acuity necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively
- 2 to 5 years of relevant maintenance experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- HVAC Certification required
- Electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience with:
- Belts
- Bearings
- Pulleys
- Drives
- Gearmotors
- Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, including:
- 480V three-phase motors and control circuits
- Electrical schematic interpretation
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Motor starters
- Input/Output systems
- General working knowledge of PLC systems and operations
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for:
- Preventive maintenance
- Corrective maintenance
- Work order management
- Maintenance scheduling
- Inventory tracking
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to pass all airport-required background checks and security screenings
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation
- Starting pay rate: $28.00 per hour
- Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions, and geographic location
