Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

South Hill, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a community hospital Emergency Room setting
• Document and manage patient records using EPIC (required, no exceptions)
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Complete all required facility orientation modules within the designated orientation week timeframe
• Comply with facility fingerprinting requirements prior to start date; candidates may not begin with results pending

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must be available to submit SSN, DOB, address, phone, and email at time of submission; shift availability must be addressed upfront
• 2 professional references required
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Room or similar fast-paced acute care environment
