Contract Specialist

Job Summary

The Procurement Portfolio & Operations Specialist Contractor supports both the operational execution and strategic coordination of procurement activities. The position is responsible for managing the procurement intake, tracking contract actions, and coordinating stakeholder communications while also providing portfolio-level reporting, pipeline management, process improvement support, and operational analytics. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing transactional procurement activities and contributing to efforts that improve procurement effectiveness and business alignment.

Essential Functions

Manage procurement intake, contract coordination, and action tracking activities to support efficient execution of procurement requests.

Maintain visibility into procurement pipelines, contract renewals, and sourcing activities across an assigned portfolio.

Develop reports, dashboards, and analyses to support procurement planning, workload management, and leadership decision-making.

Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to coordinate procurement activities and resolve issues.

Identify and implement process improvements that enhance procurement effectiveness, transparency, and stakeholder experience.

Support procurement governance, documentation, compliance, and operational reporting requirements.

Monitor portfolio risks, dependencies, and priorities, escalating issues and recommendations to management as appropriate.

Lead and support supplier and contract negotiations, including pricing, service levels, commercial terms, and renewals, to achieve favorable business outcomes while balancing cost, risk, and operational requirements.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, business operations, project coordination, or a related field.

Experience supporting procurement or contract lifecycles, including intake, contract administration, supplier engagement, and procurement reporting.

Experience developing reports, tracking metrics, and analyzing operational data to support decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities, adapt to changing needs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to effectively influence, coordinate activities, and collaborate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and improve business processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Ability to balance operational execution with strategic priorities.

Proficiency in analysis, reporting, and presentation development.

Ability to negotiate effectively and manage competing stakeholder interests.
