Speech Therapist
We are seeking a qualified Speech Therapist for an assignment in acute rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and be proficient in providing care in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or rehabilitation hospital setting.
Job Responsibilities- Perform rehabilitation therapies in acute care settings.
- Independently conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies in radiology without supervision.
- Potentially provide referrals for outpatient care based on patient assessments.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in SNF or rehabilitation hospital settings.
- Ability to complete MBS studies independently.
- Active Hawaii State license in the appropriate discipline is required prior to starting the assignment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Meditech computerized documentation for inpatient records.
- Pencil and paper documentation for outpatient records.
- Generally a set schedule of 5 days per week, including one weekend day.
- Holiday coverage may be required.
- Training in EMR documentation and orientation to rehabilitation area provided.
- Floating to other departments or facilities may occur based on staffing needs.
- Professional dress code includes scrubs or adherence to facility dress code policies.
