Project Engineer

Snapshot / Role Overview

We're hiring a Project Engineer in Orange County to help deliver large commercial HVAC and plumbing projects for a mechanical contractor working in life science, technology, and advanced facilities.

Impact

• Support on-time, on-budget delivery on high-profile projects.
• Own the documentation backbone: submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement logs.
• Give field crews what they need to install right the first time.
• Build working relationships with owners, general contractors, and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers with planning, scheduling, and execution from preconstruction through closeout.
• Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and buyout logs.
• Coordinate with field foremen on sequencing, deliveries, and daily progress.
• Review budgets and cost reports.

Must-Haves

• Early project engineering or field experience in mechanical construction.
• Strong organization and follow-through on documentation.
• Desire to move up the project management track on complex, design-build work.

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Experience with Procore or Bluebeam.

Compensation and Logistics

Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits. Onsite in Orange County.
