We're looking for a Plumbing Purchasing Specialist in the San Jose area to keep large commercial plumbing and HVAC projects supplied on time and on budget.

Impact

• Keep crews working by getting the right material there when they need it.
• Protect margins with sharp negotiating.
• Build vendor relationships that pay off for years.

Responsibilities

• Define procurement needs with project managers and engineers.
• Source competitive bids for plumbing materials, fixtures, and equipment.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Manage subcontractor agreements before projects start.
• Maintain expediting logs and track deliveries against the construction schedule.
• Resolve supply problems before they delay the job.

Must-Haves

• Three or more years of plumbing purchasing in commercial construction or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC materials and equipment.
• Proven success negotiating with suppliers and managing contracts.
• Excellent organization and follow-through.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with construction ERP or procurement software.
• Background in the field or in estimating.

Compensation and Logistics

Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits. Onsite in the San Jose area.
