Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency department.
- Triage patients and determine priority of care based on acuity, presenting symptoms, and safety considerations.
- Perform focused assessments, administer medications, start/maintain IVs, collect specimens, and manage wounds as directed.
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, evidence-based care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, uphold hospital policies, and operate within the Nurse Practice Act.
- Assist with patient movement, procedures, and ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available for care delivery.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing questions and providing clear explanations of care plans.

Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire.
- TNCC required upon hire or within 1 year; ENPC or PALS required within 6 months; ENPC preferred.
- At least 2 years of critical care nursing experience preferred.
- ER/acute care experience preferred.
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts, including weekends, and meet the assignment’s guaranteed hours.
- Education: current RN degree (as required by state licensure in Colorado).
