Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
LocationDickinson, ND | Acute Care / ICU
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients with diagnoses including DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions (rate and rhythm control), and medical detox in a 4-bed unit
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3 depending on patient acuity
- Titrate drips and manage titratable medications typical to an ICU setting
- Manage and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
- Independently read and interpret telemetry monitor strips
- Float to Med/Surg or the Emergency Room (1:1 assignment) as needed
- Active RN license valid for the state of North Dakota
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC / TCAR or demonstrated experience with the care of trauma patients
- Experience titrating drips and managing critically ill ICU patients
- Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
- Must pass facility-required respiratory fit testing; clinicians with facial hair must pass the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 S/R or 3M 1870+) — inability to pass fit testing and unwillingness to remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, and/or Dignity are not eligible
- Experience managing arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and complex ICU drips
- Prior experience in a small or critical access ICU environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach team members and identify unsafe clinical situations
- Opportunity to work in a close-knit ICU environment where teamwork, coachability, and clinical expertise are highly valued
- Structured onboarding with 3 unit-specific orientation shifts (12 hours each) to support a smooth transition onto the unit
