Job Title: PET/CT Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Type: Contract (9 Weeks)
Shift & Schedule: Days | Monday – Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM | 40 Hours Per Week
Pay: $90/hr - $95/hr (Based on Experience)
Requirement: Dual License in Nuclear Medicine & CT

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced PET/CT Technologist to perform PET and PET/CT imaging procedures while maintaining radiation safety, image quality, and patient-care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PET and PET/CT examinations according to established protocols.

  • Review patient history, screening information, and imaging requests.

  • Prepare patients for examinations, including fasting, hydration, glucose checks, and medication screening.

  • Explain procedures and provide patient instructions.

  • Establish peripheral IV access and perform injections.

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents as required.

  • Document radiopharmaceutical doses and required patient information.

  • Operate PET/CT equipment, PACS, RIS, and imaging workstations.

  • Perform PET/CT image processing and fusion.

  • Transfer and archive imaging studies.

  • Perform equipment quality control and troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Perform radiation surveys and wipe tests.

  • Maintain radiation safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment.

  • Monitor PET department supplies.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Assist with staff training and maintain technical competency.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

  • NMT certification through NMTCB or ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technology.

  • Active New York State Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license with Diagnostic and Injection registration.

  • Active CT certification, such as ARRT-CT.

  • Dual licensing/certification in Nuclear Medicine and CT required.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Experience with peripheral IV access and injection procedures.

  • PET/CT experience, including image fusion and processing.

  • Experience with PACS, RIS, and imaging systems.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety and quality-control procedures.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and clinical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a healthcare team.

  • Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.
