Cashier / Customer Service Associate – Part-Time | $12/hr

Speedy Plus Food Mart is seeking dependable, friendly, and responsible individuals to join our team as part-time Cashier / Customer Service Associates.

Starting Pay: $12.00 per hour

Schedule: 3–5 days per week

Available Shifts:

Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Evening Shift: 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Employees are generally scheduled 3–5 days per week based on their availability and the staffing needs of the store. Applicants should indicate the days and shifts they can consistently work.

Weekend availability is important because the store operates seven days per week.

About the Position

Our cashiers are responsible for providing friendly customer service while helping maintain an efficient, clean, and organized store.

Speedy Plus operates with a small team, so dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are extremely important. We are looking for employees who can reliably report to their scheduled shifts on time and fulfill their scheduled work commitments.

Applicants do not have to be available for every shift. We encourage applicants to apply if they can consistently commit to at least three days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide courteous, professional service

• Operate the point-of-sale register and accurately process cash, credit/debit, and other approved transactions

• Sell eligible age-restricted products in accordance with applicable laws and store policies

• Verify customer identification when required

• Process Louisiana Lottery transactions in accordance with store procedures

• Maintain an accurate cash drawer

• Stock merchandise, coolers, and other store areas as needed

• Keep the checkout area, sales floor, and work areas clean and organized

• Monitor merchandise and assist with basic inventory and restocking duties

• Follow store policies regarding safety, security, cash handling, and loss prevention

• Perform other reasonable store duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be able to consistently work at least 3 days per week

• Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to scheduled shifts

• Friendly and professional when dealing with customers

• Comfortable handling cash and performing basic math

• Able to work independently and follow established procedures

• Able to stand for extended periods and perform routine stocking and cleaning duties

• Cashier, retail, convenience store, grocery, restaurant, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required

• Must meet all legal requirements for selling age-restricted products

• Must obtain and maintain any alcohol server/retailer permit required for the position

• Reliable transportation to and from work is strongly preferred

What We’re Looking For

Experience is helpful, but reliability, honesty, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn are equally important.

We are particularly interested in applicants looking for consistent part-time employment who can commit to a regular weekly schedule.

Additional shifts may be available from time to time for employees interested in picking up extra hours.
