To Stand Out
Email Nikky Vogelgesang at nikky.vogelgesang@hhcare.net with a brief introduction and tell us about any food service, restaurant, dietary, hospitality, caregiving, or senior living experience you have. No long cover letter needed—we'd simply like to know a little about you and why Elmore Assisted Living caught your attention.
A Food Service Job Where You Actually Know Who You're Serving
In a restaurant, you might serve hundreds of people you'll never see again.
At Elmore Assisted Living, it's different.
You'll start recognizing who likes an extra cup of coffee.
You'll know which residents look forward to certain meals.
You'll see the same faces, learn names, have conversations, and become part of the rhythm of their day.
The work is food service. The experience is much more personal.
We're looking for a dependable Part-Time Dietary Aide to join our team and help make mealtime something our residents genuinely look forward to.
Trade the Restaurant Rush for Something More Personal
If you've worked in a restaurant, cafeteria, coffee shop, kitchen, or other food service environment, many of your skills will transfer naturally.
But you may notice some pretty nice differences.
No midnight closes.
No revolving door of customers.
No chasing tips.
No wondering what time you'll actually get out after the restaurant closes.
Our typical Dietary Aide shift is 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., giving you the opportunity to work in food service without giving up every evening of your life.
And instead of serving strangers, you're helping create a great dining experience for people you'll actually get to know.
What Your Day Could Look Like
You'll work alongside our culinary and senior living teams to keep meals organized, welcoming, and running smoothly.
That includes:
• Preparing dining areas before meals
• Serving meals and beverages to residents
• Assisting with basic food preparation, portioning, and meal setup
• Following resident-specific dietary instructions and meal requirements
• Clearing tables and helping with dishes after service
• Restocking beverages, utensils, food items, and supplies
• Keeping kitchen, dining, preparation, and storage areas clean and organized
• Following proper food handling, sanitation, infection control, and food safety procedures
• Communicating with cooks, caregivers, dietary staff, and community leadership
• Helping make sure residents receive the right meal, the right way, every time
And sometimes, it's as simple as remembering someone's name and making their day a little better.
You Don't Need a Culinary Degree to Be Great at This
We're looking for someone who is:
• Dependable and takes their schedule seriously
• Friendly, patient, and respectful with older adults
• Comfortable staying active and on their feet throughout a shift
• Able to work efficiently during busy meal periods
• Organized and attentive to details
• Willing to jump in and help the team when needed
• Proud of keeping their workspace clean and organized
• Comfortable following dietary instructions and food safety procedures
• Available to work the position's required weekend rotation
Previous experience in food service, restaurants, dietary services, senior living, assisted living, hospitality, healthcare, or caregiving is certainly valuable.
But we're also open to someone looking to build experience who brings the qualities we can't teach as easily:
Reliability. Kindness. Work ethic. And a willingness to help.
Your Work Becomes Part of Someone's Day
Meals mean more in senior living than simply putting food on a plate.
They're routine.
They're social.
They're something residents anticipate.
They're a chance to sit down with friends, enjoy a favorite meal, and feel at home.
That means the person preparing the dining room, serving the meal, pouring the coffee, and making sure everything is right matters too.
You aren't working behind the scenes.
You're part of the resident experience.
Why Elmore Assisted Living?
• $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
• Part-Time daytime schedule
• Typical hours of 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• No traditional late-night restaurant schedule
• Build genuine relationships with the people you serve
• Gain experience in senior living and healthcare
• Work alongside a close-knit community team
• Stay active throughout your shift
• Develop transferable food service, hospitality, and customer service skills
• Do work where being dependable and caring is genuinely noticed
