Radiology Technologist Position Summary
The Radiology Technologist performs and processes a variety of radiographic and fluoroscopic tests. This role requires technical expertise and proficiency in operating imaging equipment, while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience as a radiology technician.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Basic computer operational skills.
- Physical strength to assist with lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, maintaining a positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Proficient in hearing verbal communications, reading and interpreting orders, and documenting data accurately.
License/Certification/Registration
- Current certification as a radiology technician.
- Completion and biannual renewal of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
Essential Functions
- Perform radiological tests as scheduled or requested, utilizing appropriate skills and knowledge of equipment.
- Obtain images using appropriate equipment and transfer them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Document tests and procedures accurately via computer.
- Assist with office and clinical functions, including support for anesthesia, materials management, and case cart checks.
- Monitor radiology supplies and equipment certifications, reporting malfunctions and overseeing routine maintenance.
- Coordinate with Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager to provide necessary coverage based on the OR schedule.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques while performing tests during surgical procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and information received during work activities.
Non-Essential Functions
Perform related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Shift Information8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with flexible start times between 6:15 AM and 7:00 AM.
