Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support physicians and clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care. The CMA will perform a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities, assist with patient flow, and ensure a positive experience for patients throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, obtain medical histories, vital signs, and medication information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations and minor procedures.
• Perform clinical duties such as injections, phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, and other duties within scope of practice.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring supplies and equipment are properly stocked and sanitized.
• Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system.
• Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and follow-up care as needed.
• Communicate with patients regarding medications, instructions, appointments, and routine clinical information as directed by the provider.
• Assist with prior authorizations, insurance-related documentation, and other administrative tasks.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
