CNC Programmer
Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationwide staffing company, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for an aircraft/aerospace company in Valencia, CA.
Summary
The CNC Programmer/Machinist II will set up and operate HAAS CNC Mills and/or Lathes to produce precision aerospace components to demanding specifications and tight tolerances.
This is a hands-on working position requiring strong knowledge of CNC machine operation, tooling, feeds and speeds, part setup, inspection, and CNC programming. The ideal candidate will also have experience programming or verifying existing programs using software such as Mastercam, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Geomagic, or VX Elements.
Pay Rate: $40.00 HR DOE
Hours: 6AM - 2:30PM
Responsibilities
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and schematics before beginning production.
- Set up and operate HAAS CNC Milling Machines and/or Lathes.
- Adjust machine controls, feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets as needed.
- Program CNC machines or verify existing programs for assigned machining operations.
- Perform precision machining of aerospace components to tight tolerances.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure part quality and prevent damage to customer components.
- Inspect completed parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, thread gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Use G-Code and M-Code knowledge to operate and troubleshoot CNC equipment.
- Scan production jobs in and out using Quantum Labor Scanning.
- Maintain accurate production records and meet established production schedules.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.
- Follow all company safety procedures and promptly report equipment or production irregularities.
- Work with aerospace materials and apply appropriate feeds and speeds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mandatory overtime may occasionally be required with little or no advance notice.
Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of CNC Machinist or similar experience required, preferably in a machine shop environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC Mills and/or Lathes.
- Working knowledge of CNC machine settings, tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
- Knowledge of CNC G-Codes and M-Codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Experience machining aerospace materials is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges.
- Experience with Mastercam, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Geomagic, and/or VX Elements is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to communicate effectively and understand verbal and written instructions.
