Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Control Center Manager to oversee communication and operational coordination between Warehouse Operations, Transportation, Inventory, and other departments within a fast-paced distribution center.

This position is responsible for managing Control Center operations across all shifts, leading employees, monitoring inbound and outbound activity, resolving operational issues, and ensuring store orders are processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong warehouse, transportation, inventory, and systems experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the Control Center across all shifts.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Control Center supervisors and associates.
  • Ensure safety, sanitation, productivity, accuracy, and customer-service standards are met.
  • Monitor inbound loads scheduled for the Dry and Cooler departments.
  • Oversee pending loads and ensure store deliveries depart accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate the loading and movement of dry, refrigerated, frozen, and alcohol products.
  • Monitor store-order processing to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Resolve purchase order discrepancies, shipment issues, and system-related concerns.
  • Manage the accurate recording of deliveries, shipments, and load information in company systems.
  • Coordinate backhauls with Transportation, Dry, and Cooler departments.
  • Monitor cross-docked shipments, holiday products, promotional items, and flyer merchandise.
  • Ensure urgent product replenishments are completed to prevent pick locations from reaching minimum inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory activity to minimize shortages and temporary out-of-stock items.
  • Review discrepancy reports, investigate customer concerns, and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Partner with Warehouse, Transportation, Inventory, and Operations leadership to improve workflow and service levels.
  • Attend daily production meetings and provide operational updates to leadership.
  • Analyze productivity, service, and accuracy results and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Manage employee schedules, breaks, attendance, vacation requests, and staffing coverage.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure employees follow all company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and accountable work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Distribution Center or Operations Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of warehouse supervisory or management experience, preferably within a wholesale or distribution environment.
  • Previous experience leading supervisors and a diverse workforce.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse, transportation, inventory, and order-fulfillment operations.
  • Experience with inbound and outbound load management.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and all levels of management.
  • College-level education in management, logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work within a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.

Work Environment

This position operates within a fast-paced distribution center and regularly communicates with Warehouse, Transportation, Inventory, and Operations teams. The Control Center Manager must be flexible and available to support different shifts based on operational needs.
