Job Summary
Physical Therapist Outpatient (PT OP) position in an outpatient setting. The role involves providing therapeutic services to adults and geriatric patients with neuro/ortho conditions and medically complex cases in a busy outpatient facility. This is a 15-week assignment commencing in late October, with flexible shift options to include 4x10 or 5x8 days, primarily scheduled during daytime hours.
Job Details
- Position: Outpatient Physical Therapist (PT OP)
- Location: Outpatient setting within an acute hospital environment
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week, starting on 10/26/2026 and ending on 02/08/2027
- Required qualifications include a current BLS certification, Alaska Physical Therapist License, at least 1 year of relevant outpatient experience, and a minimum of 1 year total related work experience.
- Skills required include experience with acute care, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and extensive knowledge of body mechanics, post-operative cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgeries, spinal conditions, total hip and knee replacements, as well as neurological and muscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, and neonatal resuscitation programs.
- The candidate may be asked to float within scope to meet facility needs but is not required to do so.
- Additional clinical responsibilities may include patient family education, post-op care, and management of complex neurological and orthopedic cases.
- Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience and be licensed to practice in Alaska or hold a compact license in hand at submission.
- Pending license acceptance is permitted, with all RTO requests included during submittal, and candidates are not local (must be at least 50 miles from the facility).
- Candidates should be prepared to work holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with all schedule and RTO requests submitted upfront.
- References: Two references covering a total of at least 1 year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years.
