Medical Assistant Back Office

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join a busy family medicine practice. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations. The ideal candidate is confident in performing clinical tasks, bilingual in Spanish, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a high patient volume.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Assist providers in delivering care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Administer vaccines, including participation in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pediatric vaccine schedules
• Perform daily clinical tasks including blood draws, EKGs, and taking vital signs
• Provide support to providers efficiently, typically working with 1-2 MAs per provider
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring safety and comfort
• Accurately document patient information, procedures, and clinical notes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Communicate effectively with patients and families in both English and Spanish, including explaining procedures and answering questions
• Maintain infection control standards and follow clinical protocols consistently

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

• Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent certification
• Current BLS certification
• Bilingual in Spanish (spoken and written)
• Confident and experienced in performing blood draws and other routine clinical procedures
• Experience with pediatric vaccinations and familiarity with the VFC program
• Previous experience in a high-volume family medicine or primary care setting

Schedule/ Shift:

• Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
