Job Title: Human Centered Researcher
Job Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite and 2 Days Remote)
Job Duration: 12 Months 
Shift: Mon - Fri (09:00 AM - 05:00 PM)
Pay Range: $68 - $71/hr. on W2

Job Purpose:
  • This position is responsible for conducting end-to-end research from understanding opportunities through optimizing a product on the market.
  • working with the product and design teams to understand business problems and help articulate design solutions based on a deep, empathic understanding of our end users.
  • helping evangelize research throughout the organization
  • mentoring junior researchers as well as helping train product managers and others in basic research techniques; working to drive data-centric culture whether it is big data, wide data, or a combination.
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7 year’s experience in user experience research OR 11 years in user experience research OR master’s degree and 4 year’s experience in user experience research
  • Experience developing and/or maturing holistic research practice with digital product teams.”
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in various situations/environments.
  • Portfolio demonstrates an ability to infer / extract underlying motivations of people rather than just reporting out quotes or observations.
  • Experience collaborating with a design team.
  • Quantitative or qualitative research (see preferred qualifications) but should be conversant with both types of research.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in design, HCI, social sciences or other job-related degree
  • Experience in healthcare
Quantitative Focus:
  • Past experience providing data literacy education to a design team.
  • Expertise serving as a conduct between design and the health analytics team to craft data-driven experiences with a humane focus.
  • crafting advanced models of interactivity
  • Experience crafting a program of a/b tests and multivariate tests including evaluating future concepts through 404 testing.
Qualitative Focus:
  • Records of creating new research methods or combining multiple methods in creative ways to uncover deeper, more realistic truths about people.
  • Experience leading to discovery portion of a significant segment of customers / end users.
  • Ability to synthesize disparate literature into robust secondary research around an opportunity space.
  • Using rich qualitative data, craft themes through a rigorous process of synthesis
  • Ability to work within both inductive and deductive research frameworks.
