Summary / Objective

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Production Planner for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Melville, NY. The Production Planner will maintain the daily, uninterrupted flow of production through the proper planning and release of work orders to the production floor.

This individual will also provide daily direction and functional oversight to production floor personnel by communicating assigned orders and priorities, ensuring established production processes and procedures are followed, and monitoring progress to support the timely completion of work orders.

Essential Responsibilities

• Review daily production reports to determine future work order requirements.
• Review pending work orders and production floor capacity to achieve a balanced production schedule.
• Develop weekly production schedules and distribute them to the Production team.
• Provide daily direction to production operators and assemblers by communicating assigned work orders, priorities, and production requirements.
• Provide day-to-day functional oversight of production floor activities to ensure employees follow established processes and procedures when completing assigned work orders.
• Monitor production progress and follow up with production personnel regarding work order status, priorities, and potential delays.
• Prepare status and performance reports and submit them to management.
• Partner with the Purchasing team to evaluate purchase orders and create appropriate production schedules.
• Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays.
• Maintain communication with relevant departments, especially when production schedules change.
• Work with warehouse personnel to ensure the timely replenishment of all point-of-use inventory on the production floor.
• Work with production operators and assemblers to ensure the proper execution of released production work orders.
• Partner with the Engineering team to coordinate new product releases.
• Work with Customer Service to communicate order lead times and schedule changes for released orders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

• Strong technical acumen with knowledge of assembly processes and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a support or service capacity.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Energetic and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $44.00 per hour
