Insight Global is seeking a Process Engineer for a chemical manufacturing facility in Vernon, TX. This individual will serve as a hands-on technical resource responsible for supporting plant utilities, wastewater treatment operations, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a specialty chemical manufacturing environment. The engineer will monitor and optimize wastewater treatment processes, oversee utility systems including boilers, air compressors, reverse osmosis units, chillers, and water softeners, and support capital projects from concept through commissioning. This role will troubleshoot plant and process issues, specify and implement equipment upgrades, assist with integrating equipment into plant control systems, and drive operational efficiency and reliability improvements. Working closely with maintenance, operations, environmental, and process controls teams, this person will help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance while supporting projects, environmental reporting, and long-term operational excellence. The facility manufactures guar-derived specialty chemical products used in personal care and industrial applications, making this an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded engineer who enjoys being a "jack of all trades" and making a direct impact on plant operations.


Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 5-15 years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering environments / Strong process safety and HSE knowledge
  • Experience with plant utilities (boilers, cooling water, compressed air, chilled water, water softeners, etc.)
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment operations and environmental compliance
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives

Plusses

  • Environmental compliance or environmental engineering experience
  • Experience supporting capital projects and equipment commissioning
  • Experience with regulatory reporting (TCEQ or similar agencies)
  • Process controls or DCS experience
  • Experience with process monitoring/data analysis tools (OSI PI / PI Vision highly preferred)
