PET/CT TECHNOLOGIST

Location: Township of Brick, NJ
Position: Full-Time
Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Setting: Outpatient
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 annually


POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced PET/CT Technologist to join an outpatient imaging team. This position is specifically for a technologist who is proficient in performing PET/CT scans and has hands-on experience working with PET/CT imaging equipment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing patients, performing PET/CT examinations, administering radiotracers, maintaining radiation safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

This is NOT a general X-ray/Radiologic Technologist position. Candidates must have PET/CT experience and the appropriate PET/CT credentials.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform PET/CT scans according to established imaging protocols.

  • Prepare and position patients for PET/CT examinations.

  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety.

  • Operate PET/CT imaging equipment and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Administer radiotracers according to established procedures.

  • Perform IV insertion using proper aseptic technique.

  • Follow radiation safety and nuclear medicine protocols.

  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to any complications.

  • Document patient information and procedures accurately in EMR/EHR.

  • Process and transfer images through PACS.

  • Work closely with physicians and radiologists to ensure appropriate image quality.

  • Perform routine equipment checks and follow equipment maintenance protocols.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare and radiation safety regulations.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current license/credential required for the position.

  • PET/CT certification required.

  • Proven hands-on experience performing PET/CT scans.

  • Must be proficient in PET/CT imaging.

  • Experience with radiotracers and nuclear medicine procedures.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.

  • Ability to perform IV insertion.

  • BLS certification required.

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

  • Strong patient-care and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and accurately in an outpatient setting.

  • New graduates will not be considered.

Preferred
  • ARRT certification.

  • Experience with CT, SPECT, or other advanced diagnostic imaging equipment.

  • Experience with EMR/EHR and PACS systems.


SCHEDULE

Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Specific working days and any additional scheduling details will be discussed with the client during the interview.

No nights, weekends, or on-call requirements.
No shift differential.
