Wiring Technician – 1st Shift
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking a Wiring Technician to join our team. The Wiring Technician will install, maintain, test, and repair wiring, electrical components, controls, and related systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics. This position requires someone who can work independently while following safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain wiring, controls, and electrical systems
- Drill holes and route new wires through cabinets and equipment
- Install switches, controls, and electrical components
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and building plans
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers
- Use diagnostic and testing equipment to verify proper and safe operation
- Identify electrical problems and troubleshoot system issues
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools
- Follow instructions from supervisors and department management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Complete other duties within your skill set as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous electrical, wiring, manufacturing, or related experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, crouch, crawl, and work in awkward or confined spaces
- Ability to climb ladders as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the workday
