Large Mechanical Assembly Technician – 1st Shift
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Large Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position plays an important role in producing high-quality electrical machinery and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical assembly, electrical equipment, sheet metal, hand tools, and large-scale manufacturing equipment. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy hands-on work, and have a strong mechanical aptitude, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical and sheet metal assembly
- Assemble electrical machinery, equipment, boards, and related components
- Read and interpret basic assembly drawings and technical instructions
- Use hand tools, drills, impact wrenches, ratchets, and other equipment
- Accurately measure materials and components using a tape measure
- Safely operate cranes and Skyjack equipment as required
- Use ladders and work safely at various heights
- Inspect work to ensure products meet quality and production standards
- Identify and resolve basic assembly or equipment issues
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work effectively as part of a team while completing assigned tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as an assembler in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with mechanical assembly, sheet metal, or electrical equipment preferred
- Strong understanding of metal properties and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret basic assembly drawings
- Proficient with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
- Comfortable using ladders
- Experience operating cranes and/or Skyjack equipment preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to work with arms extended above the shoulders
- Ability to safely climb ladders
- Ability to perform physically demanding assembly tasks throughout the workday
- Ability to work safely around large machinery and equipment
