Activity Director

A skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Allen County, Ohio is seeking an energetic and creative Activity Director to lead resident programming and engagement.

We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, build meaningful connections with residents, and create an activity program that residents genuinely look forward to.

The Activity Director will oversee the facility’s activity program and ensure residents have access to engaging, meaningful, and appropriate recreational opportunities. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining a full monthly activity calendar

• Planning group and individual activities based on resident interests and abilities

• Coordinating special events, celebrations, outings, and community involvement

• Leading and supporting activity staff

• Encouraging resident participation and building strong relationships with residents and families

• Collaborating with nursing, social services, dietary, and other departments

• Completing required activity assessments, care planning, and documentation

• Maintaining compliance with state and federal long-term care requirements

• Previous activities experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or senior living setting

• Activity Director certification preferred

• Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

• Creative, outgoing, organized, and comfortable taking initiative

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with resident-centered programming and documentation requirements

• Comfortable working occasional evenings, weekends, or special events as needed
