Software Engineer, AI & Data Systems

About the Role

This is a high-ownership engineering role on a small, fast-moving team building core platform capabilities and customer-facing products at a seed-stage people data and AI infrastructure company. You will work directly with founders and customers to turn ambiguous problems into shipped, production-owned software. The role spans backend, data, infrastructure, and frontend surfaces at massive scale.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship customer-facing products and core platform capabilities across backend, data, infrastructure, and frontend surfaces.

• Design and operate high-volume data pipelines and services with strong reliability, security, and observability.

• Build AI agents, agent harnesses, and developer tools, then operate them reliably at very large scale.

• Make architecture decisions, explain tradeoffs, and iterate designs as assumptions change.

• Work directly with founders and customers to turn vague requests into clear product decisions and working software.

• Use modern AI tools aggressively while maintaining strong engineering judgment and accountability.

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 6 years of relevant professional engineering experience.

• Strong CS fundamentals, ideally from a rigorous academic background.

• Proven experience owning a production system end-to-end, from concept through deployment and ongoing operations.

• Strong backend coding skills: APIs, data models, and distributed systems.

• Experience at an early-stage startup (seed to Series A/B) shipping across both product and infrastructure.

• Experience building and operating high-volume data pipelines.

• Hands-on experience with AI-native development: LLMs, agent frameworks, and related tooling.

• Familiarity with identity resolution, data enrichment, or matching systems at scale is a plus.

• Compensation expectations aligned with a base salary up to approximately $220k.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $200,000 to $280,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
