Jr. Maintenance Technician Position Summary

The Junior Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production line equipment to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to company quality standards. This role supports daily production activities, performs equipment checks and basic troubleshooting, and maintains a clean and safe production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, adjust, and change over production line equipment according to product specifications.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality, safety, weight, labeling, and packaging requirements.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment problems and escalate maintenance issues when necessary.
  • Complete production records, quality checks, equipment logs, and other required documentation accurately.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation of production equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
  • Inspect raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products for quality and compliance.
  • Maintain proper product flow and minimize downtime, waste, and production delays.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers, line startups, shutdowns, and product transitions.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
  • Follow company procedures for allergen control, product identification, traceability, and contamination prevention.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Report safety hazards, quality concerns, equipment issues, and production abnormalities promptly.
  • Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or a similar industrial environment preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate production equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
