Front Desk Medical Receptionist

The Front Desk Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations at a specialty clinic. Serving as the first point of contact for patients, this role involves managing appointments, handling billing and insurance claims, maintaining medical records, and delivering excellent customer service within a medium-sized team of 4 to 6 members. This position operates at a single location, utilizing commercial and proprietary EHR scheduling software to support daily clinic functions.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and verify their information accurately
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using commercial and proprietary EHR systems
• Handle incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
• Manage and update medical records following compliance standards
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with billing and insurance claims daily
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients
• Enter data promptly and accurately into electronic systems
• Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff
• Monitor and organize the waiting room environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in medical reception
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Experience with appointment scheduling software
• Understanding of insurance verification processes
• Strong data entry and customer service skills
