CNC Machinist

Constellation Search Group is looking for a CNC Machinist for a full-time permanent position. The machinist will work at a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility, playing a crucial role in the precision machining process. They will set up and operate CNC Lathes and Haas CNC mills to produce precision parts, and perform machining and bench work for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and alteration of machinery and machine parts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all tasks safely, adhering to company safety procedures.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications for machining operations.
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, and supporting shop equipment.
• Fabricate precision tools and machine parts from various materials.
• Select and align workholding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, and materials.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with tolerances.
• Recommend improvements to machining procedures for setup efficiency and production methods.
• Record and track parts and jobs in the ERP system.
• Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance on machinery.
• Complete weekly cleaning of the work area and participate in shared shop-cleaning duties.
• Move materials safely throughout the shop using a pallet jack.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 requirements and quality policies.

Qualifications:

• Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills independently and with precision.
• Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of properties and machinability of metals, alloys, plastics, and other materials.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, cutting tools, and fixtures.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and use a pallet jack.
• 5–10 years of related CNC machining experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Journeyman certification preferred.
• Experience with Haas CNC mills and various lathes including Haas DS30Y, Haas ST30Y, Haas ST35Y, and Mitsubishi Litz L-400.
