Job Title: Claims Customer Service Advocate II
Location: Columbia, SC 29229
Duration: 3 months Contract to hire
Pay Range is $17-$18/hr on W2
Job Description:
Customer Service / Claims Representative
- Responsible for handling customer inquiries, researching complex issues, and reviewing claims and non-medical appeals to determine appropriate payment, denial, or return actions.
- Processes claims and appeals according to contract regulations, internal guidelines, and quality standards, including verifying procedure and diagnosis codes and completing adjustments or reprocessing.
- Escalates unresolved complex inquiries and complaints to leads or managers and reports potential fraud and abuse.
- Requires strong communication, customer service, basic business math, Microsoft Office, and discretion with confidential information.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of customer service experience, including 1 year in claims/appeals processing, or a Bachelor's Degree in lieu of experience.
