Blast Crew Laborer

Location: Thompson Creek Mine, Challis, ID

Position: Operate auxiliary equipment and assist equipment operators and blasters in the maintenance of all equipment and the loading, mixing, unloading, and preparation of explosive products for the customer in a safe, timely and efficient manner

Qualifications:

· Must be 18 years or older

· Clean driving record

· Able to pass all background checks

· Must satisfy the requirements for a “possessor of explosives” as defined by the B.A.T.F.

Essential Functions:

· Operate auxiliary equipment in support of equipment operators, including forklifts, winches, and hand tools in order to provide timely, safe, and quality service and product to the customer.

· Read gauges and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance in order to assure quality and accurate product delivery.

· Assist Equipment Operators and Blasters at blast site in order to safely serve the customer. Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in shop, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and the safety of others.

· Knowledgeable of, and comply with applicable DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE.

· Proactively handle safety issues and practice Take 5! process by using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety.

· Maintain safe working conditions and ensure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Working Environment: Must be able to work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions of temperature and climate. Physically travel between offices and remote field locations. Must wear personal protective equipment where required. May require lifting of up to 60 lbs.

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience
